We are looking to build a barn as a wedding venue. What type of barn would you suggest? Also what would the estimated cost be for materials?
We aren’t sure if a post and beam or a pole barn would be best and have been unable to find plans for a barn large enough.
We are guessing we would need around 3,000 square feet of floor space.
Tori,
We are selling our very large barn (frame) which would be perfect for a venue. In fact, the venue could probably fit at least 500. Here’s a link:

You can download our price list by joining our mailing list on any page of http://www.barngeek.com upper right side of the page.
If you want to use local timbers you can purchase a hardware and plans package instead of a full kit for a fraction of the price.
Building a barn for weddings is a smart move right now. Barn weddings are rising in popularity.
I even have customers who buy a barn to have a wedding in then when the wedding is over they have the barn. And can revisit the memories of the wedding anytime they want.
