First let me tell you about my experience that is related to working for barngeek.com…

I have owned and been in retail for many years. I worked as a Realtor during the 1990’s when real estate was booming in Michigan.

My motto was “List your Villa with Priscilla”

I helped many people at that time to acquire property and made the American dream come true for many when they purchased their own homes.

From there my passion for flower arranging kept tugging at my heart, so I opened my own Floral shop and put those college years of fine arts training to work.

I owned and operated this business along with a small coffee shop, where I accumulated a wealth of experiences with helping people with their desires. Whether it be a perfect floral arrangement to commemorate a special event or a perfect cup of coffee to suit their tastes, I was there to assist.

I was raised in a small house my Dad built on 3 acres he bought from my Mom’s parents.

It was a part of a 40 acre farm my Grandparents owned.

The only working part of the farm at that time was a hayfield that my Grandpa McCoy rented to a neighbor. Did you catch that McCoy name, yes I have that feuding McCoy blood in me from my maternal family. One of my descendants was a cousin to Randolf “Ole Ran’l” McCoy who was the leader of the McCoy Clans side of the feud.

I spent many days with my Grandmother in the old McCoy farm house where I learned the numerous skills pertaining to farm life. From doing laundry in an old wringer washer to sewing, baking bread and harvesting dandelion greens for the supper table, I learned of a simple way of life.

My other farm skills evolved when my husband decided to start a dairy farm. I was there from A to Z in all the many task involved in that operation. My son who is the barngeek learned farm life during that time. We were involved in 4-H and had a lot of family farm experiences along the way.

We here at barngeek.com know that life is a process. Aaron aka barngeek had a dream to have a successful online barn business. Many life events and hard work have brought this company to what it is today from a dream to a reality.

That is why Aaron and his wife Maggie decided to expand their crew by adding a phone consultant. It is my job to listen to your ideas about the dream you have of building one of our barns.

I have watched behind the scenes as Aaron and Maggie started on a shoestring and saw them implement ideas and work them into reality. I recall, many jobs Aaron has had that gave him knowledge to do what he does today.

His first job as a delivery man for the local lumberyard here in Carson City. He also worked with his uncle as a lumberjack harvesting trees for lumber in many local woodlands. So, that is just a little more about us. I am happy to help you bring your dream of a Michigan Heritage Barn to a reality…..talk to you soon!
