At BarnGeek, nothing brings us more joy than seeing our plans come to life in the hands of our talented and dedicated customers. Today, we are excited to share the inspiring story of a customer who turned our 30×46 Gambrel barn plan into a stunning, functional addition to their farm.

With the help of a contractor friend, this customer embarked on the journey to build their dream barn. Using locally milled rough cut Douglas fir, they created a structure that is both beautiful and robust. To achieve a charming, weathered look, they treated the exterior with a product called Lifetime, adding a touch of rustic elegance to their barn.

This project was a labor of love, with the customer’s husband working alongside their contractor friend every day. Through hard work and hands-on experience, he not only contributed to the construction but also gained invaluable knowledge along the way. The end result is a barn that perfectly suits the needs of their little farm, offering functionality and aesthetic appeal.

We are proud to showcase this remarkable accomplishment and hope it serves as inspiration for others looking to bring their own BarnGeek plans to life. Stay tuned for more customer stories and tips on creating your dream barn!

The Following is their story in their own words.

We hired a contractor friend to build our Barn Geek 30 x 46 Gambrel barn…and are so happy with how it turned out! We used locally milled rough cut Douglas fir and sealed the exterior with a product called Lifetime that gave it a nice weathered look. My husband was able to work with our friend every day, doing the grunt work and learning a lot along the way. It has turned out to be quite functional for our little farm.
