We are thrilled to share an inspiring story from one of our Barn Plans Library members. This family embarked on a remarkable journey to transform our BarnGeek 40×50 plan into their dream home. Back in the fall of 2019, they decided to mix a couple of our plans, creating a unique 44×60 home with a 20×30 loft, totaling 3240 sqft.

Their dedication and passion for this project are nothing short of Amazing! They milled the wood themselves from their property!

Now, we’re excited to share their progress with you, complete with photos. We hope this story inspires and encourages you in your own building endeavors. If you are inspired to get started choose the barn plans package that meets your needs below!

“We are in central Missouri. We chose our BarnGeek 40×50 plan in fall of 2019.. we mixed a couple of plans together and came up with a 12-20-12 and made it 60′ – so its 44×60 with a 20×30 loft = 3240 sft 4/3 home 🥰 . We made a couple tweaks to add a foyer to make room for stairs in a lean to area.
We milled the wood our self, from our property. We tried to build a kiln for it, but that didn’t go too well and we ended up doing air dry in the Quonset hut. Concrete was poured spring 2022. We have a couple of Amish gentlemen that are assembling all of the big stuff. We built the stairs October 2022. Painted the windows black, we didn’t want to pay for already black windows. We just put our first window into the window wall this past weekend. It’s a slow process, but we love every minute of it.. 😍 blood sweat and tears, but WE built it. Floor plans at the end of pictures.. They aren’t exactly as they really are (house is 10′ longer than the plans) but they are close.
2/24/23 – Windows are in!! Pics at the end!”
